An even crisper, cleaner sound than before. T3, April 2001
Digital radio has always been frustratingly expensive, and you’re looking at shelling out around £600 for any kind of DAB tuner these days. Realising there was a gap in the market, VideoLogic launched its DRX-601E unit at a more than reasonable £300, prompting T3 to gush over its superb performance for such a fair price back in issue 56.
Now VideoLogic is releasing the next instalment of its DAB series, in the shape of the DRX-601ES. Although it’ll probably sell for around £350, this time you get the DAB in a stylish silver finish, a far cry from the business-like black box exterior of its predecessor. Apart from the aesthetic merits, the DRX-601ES also vaunts PAC (Psycho-Acoustic Compensation) that gives this new tuner an even crisper, cleaner sound than before. So although you’re faced with spending an extra £50, you’re still going to end up happy.
We love those VideoLogic chaps for bringing their DAB tuners down to a price point we can all afford.
