A DAB tuner with clock radio and timer functions. Building on the success of the Evoke-1, PURE have launched the Tempus-1. This model has the same size and the same 'look' as the EVOKE-1. The model we tested had a blue back lit display with white text. Basic DAB operation is the same as the EVOKE.
The tuning button has a nice feel and 'clicks' as you scroll through the available stations. In addition to the normal display modes the radio has a large LCD time display. 10 one-touch presets are easy to set and use. Two alarms can be set. They can be set to trigger a tone or turn the radio on to a set channel. They are very easy to set. When the radio turns on following an alarm a touch of the handle sets the radio to snooze mode. The sleep button will turn the radio off following a preset duration, 15-90 minutes. You can record from the Tempus-1 using the stereo out or the digital out sockets....
Sound quality is very good but is dependent on the DAB station being listened to...An excellent well designed DAB radio - equally at home feeding a digital signal to a hi-fi, or working as a clock radio at the bedside.
