PURE Digital’s affordable and sophisticated products are probably the ones you want. Total DVD, October 2003
If you’re into DAB radio - and if you’re not, you should be - PURE Digital’s affordable and sophisticated products are probably the ones you want. But, since some areas of the country don’t receive DAB signals, the DRX-702ES updated DAB tuner also receives AM and FM signals.
Features include fast auto tune with FM RDS station identification and automatic elimination of duplicates, 99 channels and DAB-style selection of FM channels by name. Connections include RF, FM and AM aerial, dual phono outputs with auto pass-through on power off, optical TOS link digital and coaxial, and a ¼-inch headphone. There’s an option of Neutrick balanced XLR outputs. There’s a three-level Dynamic Range Control to tailor output to different noise environments, and remote control. Performance is great and for the price there’s nothing to beat it. The inclusion of the USB port for firmware upgrades from a PC marks the way in which DAB is becoming integrated into multimedia home entertainment systems.
