If I take my DAB digital radio overseas will I be able to pick up local foreign DAB services?
This will depend on which country you’re using your DAB radio in. Nearly all countries broadcasting DAB transmit in the Band 3 frequency, but a very few European countries (Germany and France) also transmit DAB in the L Band frequency. This means that if you were to take a Band 3 radio to France it will not pick up any stations and if you were to take a Band 3 radio to Germany it will only pick up the stations being transmitted in Band 3 and not those being transmitted in L Band.
All PURE Digital DAB radios can pick up DAB stations transmitted in the Band 3 frequency with exception of the DRX-702 tuner, the Evoke-1XT Tri-Band, the PocketDAB2000, the Evoke-3 and the Legato 2, which can pick up both Band 3 and L Band frequencies as well as FM.
The following countries transmit in Band 3.
Belgium
Denmark
Holland
Italy
Norway
Portugal
Singapore
Spain
Sweden
Switzerland
To pick up the radio stations when you move to a different country you must perform a full factory reset (rather than just an autotune), and then select the *full* autotune option. Check your user guide for further information.
