Performance
Despite being pocket-friendly in its dimensions, the PocketDAB 1000 offers full Band III reception and is fully compliant with ETS 300 401. Its central rocker switch acts as volume control and menu selector though thankfully you can lock the controls to prevent swapping stations when the unit's in your pocket.

Practicality
The PocketDAB 1000 runs off three AA batteries, which compared to modern Walkmans isn't particularly impressive, but then digital radio hasn't been around five minutes. Cleverly the headphone cable acts as the unit's aerial, ridding it of nasty protrusions...

Style
Pretty swanky. The PocketDAB 1000 has an anodised aluminium case making it look very contemporary - more like a fancy MP3 player than a radio. Its LCD features a blue backlight which enhances the unit's aesthetics further.

Value
You'd have to be a radio junkie to warrant spending £169 on a pocket radio. However for radio purists this is bound to be a desirable unit.
